I started this site in 2014 as a place to document a backpacking trip to Japan. That trip ended up lasting nearly two years and took me across Asia, Europe, North Africa, and South America (all documented here in the archives).
Over time, traveling started to mean something broader. Life continued on and this became a place to collect whatever I happen to be learning about, working on, making, or exploring at the moment. There’s still plenty of actual travel here; but there is also art, photography, writing, ideas, and whatever else has my attention.
Before content was an extension of the personal brand, people made websites about whatever they happened to be into. They were specific, personal, sometimes strange, and usually a little rough around the edges.
So that’s what louistraveling is: a scratchpad, archive, and ongoing brain dump. Generally unedited, occasionally unfinished, and allowed to wander.
Enjoy looking around.
